Jazz Melodies Just For Bass

JAZZ MELODIES JUST FOR BASS is a customized jazz bass repertoire, showcasing 25 years of original compositions by New York City bassist Neal Miner. This book offers material that can be enjoyed by professional players or serve as a valuable resource for teachers and their students.

Miner compiled 11 of his bass melodies, most of which are crafted over harmonies of well-known American Standards he loves. This technique, made famous by such jazz legends as Charlie Parker, Thelonious Monk and Duke Ellington, is often referred to as a contrafact, or, more casually, a line. Each tune has two unique parts, one to be read by the bassist and one to be read by the ensemble, allowing the player to feel completely supported and able to shine.

JAZZ MELODIES JUST FOR BASS also comes transposed for Bb & Eb instruments. See below for more details.
